We knew that as strategic partners with the Flywheel Incubator in Sacramento we could help the creative class in our city excel, and we knew going into the project that it would be a lot of fun.

But beyond the fashion, we spend most of our time taking notes on all of the little event details. There is so much to enjoy: invitations, seating, staging, and lighting. We look for event trends like department store buyers look at fashion trends.

And this year, large chandeliers lit the runway. Here are three of our favorite designers showing their collections under some stunning chandeliers.

If you’ve been following us, you know that it’s no secret that we love taking pictures of our adventures on a daily basis. Whether we’re snapping pictures of people we interact with, or more importantly, moonlighting as food photographers during meals, we are constantly documenting moments along the way. More than a few times we would snap a picture and say, “If we could write something to go along with this picture, we would say: (insert blissful quote here)”. Well it looks like the App Gods have listened to our prayers because we have found the answer! Overgram!

This is Overgram in a nutshell: Take a photo, create a slogan, choose a font, color it, resize it, put it on the photo, and post it to instagram. It is that easy. And believe us, once you get started, you won’t want to stop. We have tons of pictures with life quotes, quirky office sayings, ect. The fun literally never ends! Try it for yourself here (but we warn you, we aren’t responsible for any addictions that occur due to our suggestion).

It is great for events and moments that need a title. Here is a picture we took using Overgram while sitting on the beach in Puerto Rico enjoying the sunshine (we know what you are thinking, our jobs must be soooo hard right?). Test it out next time you are at an event, and be sure you use the hashtag #unseenheroes so that we can see how you decided to use it!

It is no secret that we are extreme advocates for incorporating the power of social media into every event we produce. And we aren’t just talking about Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or Instagram. There is a whole sphere of social media that  people don’t think about, so when we are asked to share some of that insight, we are more than willing to share what we know. So, when the Sacramento Business Journal asked us, “What is one thing that I can do to increase my small business’ social media following?”, we were happy to answer. Here is what Roshaun had to say:

Our office is split 50/50, carnivores and vegetarians. When we were asked to event manage and coordinate the 2013 Sacramento Vegfest we were so excited to share the Veg love to the masses (yes…our carnivores comrades were stoked too).

We were challenged to make this event into something that the whole community would enjoy whether you were a die hard bacon lover or a die hard tree hugger. The goal was to create a fun day for all to enjoy and I think that we definitely made it happen. Over 2,500 people joined in eating, drinking and learning about vegan, raw, and vegetarian eating options. The icing on the cake was that we had a vegan beer selection to wash down the scrumptious food selection. Yes, there are beers that are considered vegan, Sierra Nevada and Track 7 supplied some great options.

In addition to the vegan beer, people were able to learn, eat and sample vegan, raw and vegetarian options with over 30 vendors in attendance. We were also joined by Michael Marks, Emily Webber, Chef AJ, Feeding Crane Farms, Animal Place and The Green Boheme on the main stage. These presenters talked horticulture, how- to’s and instructed cooking demos.We were really excited to get behind this event and we have to say, with only three weeks lead time this year this event sprouted into a great success.
