Bicycle Film Festival 2010

Our Challenge:
Plan a three day-outdoor-Bicycle Film Festival; develop a media strategy that optimizes public awareness; manage communication between client, vendors, sponsors, and city agencies.

Our Solution:
The client’s idea was to have the BFF at Freemont Park in the heart of downtown Sacramento Friday and Saturday, and finish the weekend by watching the 2010 Amgen Racers sprint past on-lookers enjoying the festival. Since the idea was laid out already, we just had to connect the dots and make sure the vision came to fruition better than expected.

Their Results:
Sacramento’s first Bicycle Film Festival was recognized by the client, sponsors, and vendors as a complete success. It was heavily covered by all media outlets: Television (Good Day Sacramento, Channel 31, Fox 40, Channel 13, Channel 3), Print (Sacramento Bee, Sacramento News & Review, Submerge Magazine, UC Davis Aggie), and Radio (NPR, KDVS 90.3). The coverage sparked wide spread buzz about the BFF throughout the city. An average of 800 people per day attended Sacramento’s first Bicycle Film Festival. Amongst the attendee’s was the city Mayor (Kevin Johnson), as well as the original founder of the BFF New York (Brendt Barbur), who both gave impromptu speeches praising the success of the festival. The client was so impressed with the coordination and positioning strategy, plans have already been set in motion to bring the BFF back in 2011.
