From the moment we wake up, we’re surrounded by brand names. From the lettering on this morning’s cereal box, to the logo on our shirt, to the metal insignia on the front of our cars, there’s a name on everything.
So, what makes us choose to buy a certain pair of running shoes? Is it really the promise of getting a better workout, or might the the strategically placed swoosh on the side have something to do with our rationalization of an inflated budget? What is it about that slightly deformed check-mark that instantly makes some feel cooler when plastered on the side of what would otherwise be another pair of obnoxiously-colored cross-trainers?
Is it the hipster who makes the Ray Bans, or Ray Bans that make the hipster?
Just some food for thought…
